Restaurant Review: Taj of India, Georgetown, Washington DC

Restaurant Location: 2809 M Street, NW, Georgetown, Washington, DC 20007

Cuisine: Indian

VFC's Food Rating: Five Stars

VFC's Ambience Rating: Four Stars

VFC's Review: Located just a couple of doors down from La Chaumiere, The Taj of India serves absolutely the best Indian food that I have ever tasted.

The first clue that the food at the Taj is tasty and authentic - aside from the appetizing smells that eminate from the place - is the fact that most of the clientele at any given time is from Indian nationality or descent; and if it's authentic enough for them, then I thought it would be authentic enough for me.

The Taj didn't disappoint.

From the appetizers, to the main courses to the dessert; if you like Indian food, then you'll love your experience at the Taj of India.

The only thing to keep in mind is that you're not getting much of a romantic setting at the Taj, so if romance is your game look elsewhere (possibly the Bombay Club if you still want Indian food); but the Taj is perfect if you're looking for great food and a laid back atmosphere.

The wait staff is also especially courteous and will keep your water glass full at all times - especially if it looks like the curry is making you cry.

The Taj of India is also very reasonably priced for Georgetown and a visit to the establishment comes highly recommended - especially if you love Indian food.
